Crazy that now I'm a part of it.

Erica- It's a little bizarre how similar we are in so many ways. You're right- it is an effort to pull oneself out of isolation. And you're also right about gym lighting- just plain terrible.

Kim- You are a certainly part of my community as well. I am always so encouraged by your comments and posts- encouraged to write more and write better, to see more and see better. I so love how you string words and thoughts together and it challenges me to want to be a better writer. I learn so much from you. Just yesterday I encountered a real "ass/idiot" and I got super bothered by it and then remembered your post about asses and idiots and laughed. I thought of this part:

"Idiots are everywhere.

Somehow, somehow, it is coming clear to me that the ground that idiots live and relate upon grows grace well.

Just consider the encounter of an idiot as the fertilizer factor personified."

and I smiled. God has certainly you used as a major encourager in my life. Thank you so much for that. You're right- He certainly has connected our hearts and I continue to grow because of you.

ps- it's Louise.

Amy- I'm glad my arms didn't make you cry:) I cannot wait to see you!!!Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06025904469555816186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8445376183757794963.post-40625903848380197802011-03-06T18:39:23.195-08:002011-03-06T18:39:23.195-08:00I like your arms, actually. Thank you for helping me better see and give thanks for all that I have.

Katie, I don't know your middle name. I certainly wouldn't call you to come rescue me on the highway, or to say, "Be over in a few." But, you have, in the vulnerability of your writing and comments concerning what I share in mine, been as important to the work of God in my life as those who share a zip code and community of persons: church, school, team with me.

I just want to thank you for that. To let you know that my life is more and richer for ( reading your heart and mind) knowing you. God has used you to pierce my isolation as well. I think that He has connected our hearts in like matters and used what we share to better impact those things he has wired and fueled us to do.

You are part of community for me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8445376183757794963.post-14566530339556152692011-03-06T08:33:35.365-08:002011-03-06T08:33:35.365-08:00Ok as the "fabulous yearbook gal/fabulous fri...Ok as the "fabulous yearbook gal/fabulous friend I have to say the pictures are not all that bad. We sometimes tend to see ourselves much worse than we are [Manly arms...more like definition, which I would SO rather have than flabby wings]. Oh and the gym lighting is HORRIBLE for pictures and makes everyone look less than their best!
On to my next point...I believed/felt the same in regards to community when Erick and I moved to SoCal and started to teach at Valley. In fact, it hasn't been until recently that I have realized my need to find community and to pull myself out of my own isolation. An introvert myself I like to be alone or be with those who know me best and while I do have a fear of putting myself out there I am learning it isn't so bad. As I Seek to become more like Jesus, I am learning He will bring other followers along side me to teach me more about His ways and help grow stronger in my faith. So fellow fabulously once isolated friend of mine, I encourage you to be a good witness and put yourself out there and get to know those around you...in short sleeves of course!
:)Erick and Ericahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05262460955698387111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8445376183757794963.post-29177221881783631092011-03-06T07:04:01.621-08:002011-03-06T07:04:01.621-08:00This post made my heart happy! This post made my heart happy!heidiplooghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02073641187017135576noreply@blogger.com
